STUDENTS and staff of Chetwynde School, Barrow, are celebrating once again with another excellent set of outstanding GCSE results.
With 44% of all passes achieving either A* or A grades and 91% of all students achieving 5 or more passes at C grade and above, the students have much to be proud of.
Headmaster, Mr Russell Collier, said: “I am extremely pleased with these results as they illustrate the hard work and dedication shown by everyone here at Chetwynde and the wonderful level of support our students get from school and home.”
“These are without doubt some of the best results we have achieved as a school, and reinforces our position as a school committed to excellence in academic performance.
"Following on from our wonderful A-level results last week, the GCSE results give further evidence that we provide our students with the qualifications, skills and confidence to enter the wider world and be successful in whatever they choose to do.
"On behalf of everybody at Chetwynde I would like to congratulate all students on their achievements this year and wish them every success for the future.”
The best performer of the year was Kelly Spry, who achieved 12 A* passes and 1 B grade pass.
Lucy Belbin, Ryan Clyde, Agnish Das, Kanha Kukreti, Luke Stangroom and Heather Watts were among a number of other students obtaining at least 5 A* grades.
