A TEACHER who has spent a quarter of a century at a rural South Lakeland school has retired.
Molly Long left Old Hutton Primary School at the end of the summer term after 25 years.
Mrs Long, 60, of Burton-in-Kendal, joined the school to provide maternity cover before stepping up to take a part time and then a full-time role.
“It’s been a very happy time. It’s been great to work with so many wonderful parents, children and the whole Old Hutton community,” said Mrs Long.
She said her career highlights included seeing children’s development and enjoying trips to Haverthwaite and Windermere.
She plans to find new hobbies in her spare time and help to plan her daughter’s wedding.
“I have always been proud to work here and I have always looked forward to coming to work,” added Mrs Long. “It’s been a big part of my life and I will miss the children, the community and the staff and being part of such a brilliant team.”
