A PORTRAIT of the man who founded the original Cumberland and Westmorland Farm School – Henry Charles Howard, of Greystoke Castle – will be unveiled at Newton Rigg College next month.
The recently acquired portrait was originally commissioned after Mr Howard’s death in 1914.
Former students of the college are now being invited to attend the unveiling ceremony, which will be carried out by principal Wes Johnson.
It will follow a farm walk at Newton Rigg on August 1, which starts at 5.30pm and ends with a buffet in the college’s Eden Room at 8.30pm, when the unveiling will take place. For more information contact Brenda Kerr at Newton Rigg on 01768 893448, or email brenda.kerr@ newtonrigg.ac.uk
