POLICE have released details of road closures in Ulverston for the annual carnival parade on Saturday.
Events in the town centre and Ford Park will be ongoing for most of the day and a road closure has been granted for the streets involved and affected by the parade.
The closure will be effective from 12pm midday until 4pm.
In order to ensure the safety of members of the public, participants and volunteers, that road closure will be robustly enforced. The only exceptions will be emergency vehicles and staff.
In order to ensure safe passage of the parade, the route will be subject of temporary parking restrictions, and residents are asked to ensure their vehicles are moved from the parade route as early as possible.
The whole of Ulverston town centre area is a designated alcohol free area. This includes the car parks and Ford Park.
The alcohol free legislation is waived for the duration of the parade but will be enforced after the end of the parade.
The parade starts at 1pm.
The route is as follows:
Forming up in FORD PARK and HART ST;
Right into FOUNTAIN ST;
Right up SOUTERGATE;
Left into SUN ST;
Left down STANLEY ST;
Straight into MILL ST;
Right into KING ST;
Straight on to QUEEN ST;
Left into CAVENDISH ST to Coronation Hall;
Left in NEW MARKET ST;
Right into MARKET ST;
Left into UNION ST;
Right into HART ST for dispersal in FORD PARK.
