TRAINS between Carlisle and Lancaster have been cancelled after a landslip.
The incident is thought to have happened near Tebay.
Alternative bus services have been arranged, with journey times extended by up to 60 minutes.
Station manager Linsey Telford said: "We are unable to promise passengers travel between routes routes from Glasgow/Edinburgh to London and Birmingham due to a major landslip outside of Oxenholme at around 3pm today."
"We are having difficulty sorting coaches and we are trying to put on taxis.
"We are advising passengers that their tickets will be valid tomorrow if they can't travel today."
Passenger Roger Chamberlain, one of a group of four workers at the station trying to get to work at Aberdeen, said: "We depend on being able to get there tonight so that we can sleep before work tomorrow. Our jobs depend on it." For more information, click here.
