ULVERSTON town councillors have backed a petition from Furness MP John Woodcock to stop cuts to a train service.
First Transpennine Express has proposed to more than half through services linking Barrow, Ulverston and Grange with Manchester and its airport.
Coun Norman Bishop-Rowe said: βItβs a service that keeps this part of England in touch with the rest of the world, particularly at the weekends.β
