SUN, sea, sandwiches and plenty of Union Jack flags gave the ‘perfect’ setting for the Silverdale Jubilee celebrations.
Scores of residents and visitors came out in the sun to enjoy the food and Morecambe Bay scenery at the shore-side party.
Molly Bingham, who lives in the village, said she was having a lovely time: “It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get together and a fantastic amount of people have turned up.
“We’ve all brought our chairs and food, and of course we’ve got the views.”
County councillor, Sarah Fishwick, was also enjoying the event. She said: “It’s brilliant to see so many people here and the weather is in our favour – there is very little wind so it’s perfect.”
And those from further afield brought their hats, flags and Jubilee-inspired garments too.
Joanna O’Keefe was part of a large group camping at the village’s Gibraltar Farm campsite.
She said: “There are lots of us here for the weekend – both kids and adults, and the party is great for us all. We’ll probably continue the celebrations with a bit of a party later too.”
Rachel Smith, visiting from the Isle of man, added: “We are having such a nice day, and think it’s fabulous that the whole community have come out to enjoy themselves together.”
