SEDBERGH School is celebrating a double success after inspectors awarded it two top accolades.
Following visits from the Independent Schools Inspectorate and Ofsted, the historic private school’s academic credentials were judged ‘excellent’ and its boarding provision ‘outstanding’.
Ofsted inspector Leonard Hill, who visited the school’s boarding houses earlier this year, said: “The school is providing an outstanding service and really does celebrate the diversity of the boarding community.”
He was also impressed with the quality of relationships between pupils and with staff which ensure that ‘boarding pupils are very well supported and cared for from their first day at the school’.
The Independent Schools’ Inspectorate, which analysed the academic side of the school, focused on pupils’ development and learning and praised the excellent curriculum and exceptional range and quality of opportunities open to pupils.
Teachers were also found to have excellent knowledge and enthusiasm.
