A BLACKBURN car dealer is to appeal a six-month driving ban imposed by magistrates after he was caught speeding twice on the M6 in Cumbria.
Suhal Laher, of Yardere House, Beardwood Fold, was clocked at 96mph at Junction 37 near Sedbergh on March 3 and again at 90mph near Junction 39 at Shap on March 30.
At South Lakeland Magistrates Court, Kendal, yesterday, the court heard that Mr Laher had previous motoring convictions and had also been granted a reduction in a driving ban by Blackburn magistrates on the grounds of financial hardship.
The 34-year-old said he travelled around 1,000 miles a week to buy cars in Cumbria and that he drove to Leicester once or twice a month carrying out work for a charity he established in 2009, helping poor children into education.
However, magistrates imposed eight penalty points for the two offences to go with four he already had and disqualified him.
The ban was suspended to allow Mr Laher to appeal.
He was also fined £215.
