Woman cyclist dies in accident at Dent
A PEDAL cyclist died in an accident at Dent yesterday while taking part in a Land's End to John O' Groats bike ride.
Police say the 40-year-old came off her bike after failing to negotiate a bend in wet conditions on Thornton Lane in Deepdale.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 6pm but were unable to save the woman.
She had suffered severe head injuries.
Police said that she was part of a group taking part in the ride.
Her details will not be released until all her family has been informed.
