A HEAD teacher who has been at the helm of Sedbergh Primary School for nearly two decades says she is leaving it ‘in good heart’.
Maggie Cullen retired from her post at the end of term – saying she would dearly miss both children and staff.
She has worked at the school for 22 years – 19 of them as head – but, in her final days admitted she had not had the chance to consider life without school.
“At the moment, I haven’t really thought about it because it has been so busy – but it’s going to hit me at the end because there is still so much to do,” said Mrs Cullen.
Liz Close, chair of governors, described Mrs Cullen as a ‘dedicated and hard-working head’ who had taken the school to outstanding level at its last two Ofsted inspections.
She said she would be remembered with ‘much warmth and affection’.
