BUSINESS secretary Vince Cable has given this year’s Westmorland Gazette Business and Tourism Awards his personal support.
The country’s top voice for enterprise praised the awards, which act as a platform for outstanding firms, and applauded the companies he had discovered during his time in South Lakeland.
“The Gazette shows real vision in celebrating success in the local economy, and giving local businesses the chance to showcase their achievements,” he said.
“In my visits to the Lakes, I have always been hugely impressed by the wit, initiative and creativity of local businesses – so there’s a great deal to celebrate!”
With just over a week until the deadline, entries for the awards are flying in.
However, there is still time for top companies from across Cumbria, north Lancashire and North Yorkshire to apply and stand up for the value they add to the economy and community.
