A man's body was found on the rail line near Carnforth this morning.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "At 6.45am today the train driver of the 0546 Lancaster to Windermere service reported having seen what appeared to be a person lying motionless on the line in the area of Carnforth.
"British Transport Police, together with colleagues from Lancashire Police, ambulance services and rail staff attended the scene and a subsequent search resulted in the body of a male being located."

The BTP are now carrying out identification enquiries and will inform next of kin, while the coroner has been informed.
The line has been reopened between Oxenholme and Preston after delays, but trains are expected to be running behind schedule.
