A LAKES School pupil has beaten off more than 5,000 hopefuls to bag himself a place on a National Youth Theatre (NYT) course.
Adam Robinson, 18, from Ambleside, auditioned for a place on the technical lighting and sound course, which he will start this summer at NYT’s London headquarters.
Adam will also have the opportunity to take part in theatre productions.
He has been actively involved in stage productions for the past seven years at the Troutbeck Bridge school, and is a member of the light and sound crew for the Lakes Players.
Adam, who hopes for a place on a lighting degree course at university after completing his A-levels, is seeking funding for the NYT course as it will cost nearly £1,000 for the two weeks.
