FESTIVAL organisers have celebrated after their fledgling event grew six-fold.
More than 150 people sup-ported the second Dent Walking Festival – compared to just 25 last year.
Event chairman Matthew Clayton said the two-day series of guided walks attracted keen families and enthusiasts who took part in a choice of more than 25 rambeles across the Dales.
“Our organising team of ten were pleased with the turnout. We had all put in work to advertise the festival and I think it’s done a good job of raising the profile.
“We already have plans for next year – when we might try to give the walks a historic theme and focus on the past of interesting buildings in Dent.”
The high turnout also helped the Highlights Con-temporary Craft exhibition, at the Meditation Centre in Dent and featured work by three modern craftswomen and designers – with book binding and paper sculpture, jewellery making and felt-making on show.
