A TREASURE trove of photographs in the Lancashire Telegraph today puts the 125-year history of the newspaper in focus.
To mark our special birthday this year - and highlight our long association with the communities of East Lancashire - we have leafed through our archives to find images which reflect local life down through the decades.
And we’ve put them all together in a mammoth 48-page anniversary supplement for readers to share and enjoy.
Here we are giving you a sneak peek at some of the images that our photographers have captured on camera down the ages.
Our supplement itself, however, contains hundreds of photographs, many never seen before, from around our towns and villages, showing people at work, at play and at war.
There are images from the mid-1800s, during the Victorian age and right through the 1900s, as we chart events, royal visits, two World Wars and local scenes.
We focus, too, on the changing face of East Lancashire, the different aspects of daily life as time moved on, and the advance of new modes of transport, communication and technology.
You might even spot a family descendant, or a place which brings back special memories across our pages.
For those who enjoy looking back, or are simply interested in life in East Lancashire in times gone by, our 125th anniversary picture special is a must.
Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the Lancashire Telegraph, with our special supplement inside, today.
