NORTH Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about two thefts which they believe may be linked.
Between 5.30pm on Thursday (December 9) and 7:45am on Friday (December 10) a Citroen Relay van parked in a lay-by on Reebys Lane, Bentham had its front nearside window smashed. Tools, including a Ryobi planer valued at £40 and a Bosch jigsaw valued at £30, were stolen from inside.
Then between 6pm on Thursday (December 9) and 7.15am, on Friday (December 10) a Ford Transit van parked in an isolated location near Clapham also had its front nearside window smashed.
Numerous power tools valued at £3,000 were stolen. Tools stolen included two Stihl chainsaws, a Bosch grinder and a Makita drill.
North Yorkshire Police has encouraged van owners to remove all tools from their vehicles overnight and to park in well lit areas whenever possible.
