Then between 6pm on Thursday (December 9) and 7.15am, on Friday (December 10) a Ford Transit van parked in an isolated location near Clapham also had its front nearside window smashed.

Numerous power tools valued at £3,000 were stolen. Tools stolen included two Stihl chainsaws, a Bosch grinder and a Makita drill.

North Yorkshire Police has encouraged van owners to remove all tools from their vehicles overnight and to park in well lit areas whenever possible.
