A health therapist from Barrow has been awarded a spa evening after suggesting a winning slogan about nursing in Cumbria.
Alison Jones, who works for NHS Cumbria as a paediatric therapy manager, came up with the winning nursing strapline 'Caring with Pride Everyday'.
It will be used to promote the new Cumbria Nursing Framework which will be launched early in the new year.
The nursing framework is a set of standards and aims which all nurses and nursing activities Cumbria should aspire to deliver.
A presentation took place last week where Alison and fellow health colleague Sarah Cooper were presented with the prize of the pamper evening at Armathwaite Hall, Bassenthwaite near Keswick, by NHS Cumbria's Associate Director of Nursing, Moira Angel.
The prize was donated by both Armathwaite Hall and the Cumbrian Branch of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
Moira Angel is NHS Cumbria’s Associate Director of Nursing and Quality.
She said: "The aim of this competition was to let nurses and health professionals express what they think nursing is about and the most important aspects and the judging panel felt that Alison's slogan idea summed up what patient's deserve and what we strive to achieve the best.
"With this ever changing world, we need to make sure that in Cumbria we have a framework which summarises how all nurses across the county in different trusts agree to achieve and what they hope to aim for in the future.
"I’d like to thank both the RCN Cumbrian branch and Armathwaite Hall for donating such a lovely prize to show their support for nursing in Cumbria."
