CHILDREN from Staveley School have been working hard to create a giant advent calendar to appear along the village’s main street.
The festive feature will see one frame opened daily in the run up to Christmas Day.
Pictures submitted by 25 children will appear in houses and businesses in Main Street – with the one selected for Christmas Day winning a special prize.
Pupils will have to wait until then to see which have been selected.
“This is an opportunity for children to show their creative talents,” said head teacher Mike Prince.
“It is also a perfect example of school and community working together.”
