A FUDGE specialist is aiming to boost business with a new range of welcome boxes for local hotels.
Coniston Post Office and Fudge Company owner Phil Glennon makes 22 flavours of the sweet stuff in the village and has seen the business grow ten per cent in the last year, as tourists and locals chomped through 270 kilograms of fudge between Easter and October.
Now, to keep sales strong during the winter, Mr Glennon has launched complementary treat boxes.
Mr Glennon said: “Seasonality is a tricky issue for niche firms like ours but by teaming up with partners - like Made In Cumbria and bed and breakfasts - we hope to keep busy during the winter months.”
