LOCAL environmental experts descended on Windermere Preparatory School last week for a mini summit for pupils on climate change.
Anne Blackburn, of the national park authority, and Chris Rowley, a senior lecturer in geographical and environmental education at the University of Cumbria, were joined by Tim Farron MP for a discussion with students on the most important environmental issues of today.
The event was also attended by pupils from St Cuthbert's, Goodley Dale and Windermere Juniors.
Mr Farron spoke to Year Six students about Government policies, and pupils were also introduced to the concept of peak oil to extend their understanding about how the world can adapt to a declining oil supply.
