HAZARDOUS driving conditions continue to blight journeys throughout Cumbria, the Dales and north Lancashire.
Ice and poor visibility due to fog were the main problems facing motorists throughout the region this morning.
But in one incident, swans created a hazard after wondering on to the A590 between M6 J36 and A591 junctions.
A car flipped on to its roof at the Brettagh Halt layby on the A590 earlier today, but the incident caused no lane closures.
Difficult driving conditions due to ice were being reported between Nannypie Lane, Sedgwick, and the A6 at Levens and on Lancaster Road, Carnforth.
The A592 Kirkstone Pass closed due to snow between Troutbeck and Hartsop and Wrynose Pass closed due to snow between Eskdale and Little Langdale.
The A66 remains closed due to snow between the A685 and B6276 New Road (Brough) and A67 (Bowes).
The snow gates have been closed since the early hours of Wednesday morning and are not expected to re-open before Monday.
