POLICE have launched an investigation after a Carnforth shopkeeper was verbally assaulted.
The incident happened at approximately 12:30pm on the afternoon of October 30 at the Late Shop, on Market Street, in Carnforth.
The man entered the store and on attempting to pay for his items, he was asked for identification as proof of age.
He then became extremely abusive towards the shop assistant before threatening to physically assault him as he left the store.
Community Beat Manager, PC David Wilkinson said, “Although there was no physical assault, this man was very threatening and abusive towards the shop assistant and left him shaken and I am very keen to trace the person responsible.”
