A WOMAN has died eight days after being involved in a serious road crash while walking in Barrow.
Marjorie Higgins, 64, was a pedestrian involved in a serious road traffic collision on Bridgegate Avenue with a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by a 45 yr old local man.
After the incident, which happened at around 4.45pm on Saturday, November 13, Mrs Higgins was taken to Furness General Hospital.
She was later transferred with serious injuries to the Royal Preston Hospital, where she died last night.
The local coroner and Mrs Higgins’ family have been informed.
The motorcyclist was treated at Furness General Hospital for minor injuries but later released.
He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs and bailed until January 11.
Police are re-appealing for witnesses to contact Cumbria Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit on 0845 33 00 247.
