POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was knocked over by a car outside the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The incident happened on Ashton Road around 2pm on Monday November 8 when a silver five door hatchback car clipped a 51-year-old woman pedestrian with its wing mirror and knocked her to the ground.
She was taken into the hospital to be checked over but was released with bruising and minor cuts to her leg.
The car stopped to check that the woman was okay but then drove off and police are urging witnesses or the driver himself to come forward.
The driver is described as a white man, between 60 and 68 years old, 5ft 10inches tall, stocky build with short white hair. He spoke in a local accident.
PC Kevin Illingworth from Morecambe Police said, "We are still working to establish the circumstances around what has happened and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or to anyone who may have any information to come forward and contact police."
Anyone with any information can contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
