CRIES for help led walkers to discover a young woman last night who had fallen from rocks into the path of rising tides.
The female, believed to be in her early twenties, had become injured and stuck in mud at 9.30pm, half an hour before high water.
Ambulances and a hovercraft, with teams from Morecambe Coastguard, Morecambe Lifeboat and Lancashire Police attended the incident, north of Sandylands Promenade, on Morecambe Bay.
A spinal board was used to move the injured woman. She was taken by hovercraft to Lancaster Royal Infirmary.
