A NEW one-stop shop to make life easier for Ulverstonians has been unveiled.
The revamped Town Hall in Queen Street now features the Ulverston Local Link – where residents can access county and district council services under one roof.
It has taken five months to complete a new reception area, customer counters, information boards and meeting rooms.
South Lakeland District Council leader Brendan Jameson said: “The Local Link is a fantastic achievement and has transformed the town hall into a modern facility for the whole community.”
The new centre also features information on the likes of Age UK, South Lakes Housing and Job Centre Plus, as well as internet access.
There are already successful Local Links at Grange, Ambleside and Milnthorpe libraries, and a telephone survey is being carried out in Kendal to see if residents also like the idea of a Local Link, what organisations they would like to see involved and where is their preferred location.
