MORECAMBE’S MP has invited the Prince of Wales and his fiancee Kate Middleton to spend their honeymoon in the famous seaside town.
In an official letter written to Clarence House, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale David Morris said: “I would be delighted to welcome them to Morecambe. I can assure them they would have a wonderful honeymoon looking at the most romantic sunset in the world each evening.”
He suggests they arrive by train at Carnforth Station before taking in the sights and sounds of the promenade, Midland Hotel and Winter Gardens.
“Carnforth station is one of the most romantic settings in the world as it was where ‘the kiss’ took place in the 1940’s film Brief Encounter. The Queen also visited in 1999 to unveil the Eric Morecambe statue and had a wonderful day.”
