TWO jewellery makers have joined forces to launch a goldsmiths business after learning the trade in four different continents.
Tony Clare and Fenella Macmillan (pictured) opened Macmillan-Clare Goldsmiths at a new studio and workshop at the Greenlands Farm Village, near Burton-in-Kendal.
The pair have 40 years of experience and have won Goldsmiths Craft Council Awards and Platinum Awards for their work.
They have worked as individual goldsmiths across the world, from Spain to the United States, Canada to India and now have clients across the UK, Ireland, Scotland and Germany.
Fenella Macmillan said she first met her husband in Denia, Spain, where she was working for a large jewellery firm on a placement after graduating from the Medway College of Art.
The couple have sold their creations to a long list of top independent high street jewellers across the UK and to leading high street chains such as Boodles.
