A COMMEMORATIVE Christmas tree has been placed in a busy shopping centre to hold memories of individuals who have lost their lives to cancer.
The aim is to allow families and friends to hang messages on its branches while raising money for charity.
Kendal Rotary Club teamed up with CancerCare South Lakeland to fund the tree at the Westmorland Shopping Centre.
People who wish to add a tribute will be invited to make a £5 donation – with the money going to CancerCare South Lakeland and the Youth Activities Programme of Kendal Rotary Club.
Application forms can be found online at www.treeofmemories.co.uk and are also available at Kendal Library and the Tourist Information Centre at Kendal Town Hall.
The lights will be switched on at 1pm, on Sunday, November 21.
