THE two men at the centre of the Tebay rail disaster trial have been jailed for a total of eleven years after being found guilty at Newcastle Crown Court.
Mark Connolly, 44, of Anglesey, North Wales, was jailed for nine years after being convicted of four counts of manslaughter and three health and safety breaches. Roy Kennett, 29, of Maidstone, Kent, was also found guilty of four counts of manslaughter and one health and safety charge.
Four men, three from Lancashire and one from Cumbria, died after a runaway railway wagon came out of the darkness and hit them as they carried out repair work on the West Coast Main Line.
