Kendal Town 1, Trafford 2
TWO goals in three minutes denied Kendal home win at rain-swept Parkside on Tuesday evening.
With just two minutes gone Danny Kent fired over one of his ever reliable crosses and it fell to the completely unmarked Lee O'Keefe who blasted it in.
That early strike flattered to deceive, however, and Kendal keeper Tim Wood had to make a couple of good saves and left-back Steve Hodgson did sterling work in handling the increasingly dangerous looking Trafford attack.
Phil Brown's skills at beatof penetrating the Trafford defence.
From the re-start Trafford looked a more determined side and in the 47th minute a half-cleared corner fell to Wilkinson who cracked in a powerful shot from just outside the box to level the score.
Three minutes later Bobby Jones raced Kendal's absent midfield defence and slipped a pass to Paul Dowe who had plenty of time to loft it gently over Wood.
With five minutes to go O'Keefe nearly saved the game with a 30-yard shot which slapped against the crossbar with Trafford's Andy Merrick well beaten.
