AT THE end of September, the president of Kendal Rotary Club John Lomax is doing a sponsored walk over four days along the Cumbrian Way.
Supported by members of the Rotary Club, he will leave Carlisle on the first day and walk to Caldbeck.
The subsequent days will take him to Grange-in-Borrowdale, Skelwith Bridge and finishing in Ulverston, a total of 112km, or 70 miles.
Funds raised will be put towards local charities supported by Kendal Rotarians, including as part of the Club's Millennium Projects the CancerCare Lakes Centre.
Last year Mr Lomax accompanied Ian Botham on the stretch from Shap to Beetham as part of the cricketer's John O'Groats to Land's End walk.
Anyone who would like to assist with sponsorship should contact John Lomax on 015395-62648.
