TRIATHLON has made an impact at the Sydney Olympics and Troutbeck Bridge Swimming Club's own Junior triathlon at the weekend attracted entries from all over Cumbria.
Claire Wilson enjoyed the greatest success from the Troutbeck entries in the 14/15 year category.
She led by two seconds and then two minutes after the swim and cycle legs respectively.
Kathryn Burns took a minute out of her lead on the final leg, but Claire kept her run together to romp home in 35min 21sec.
Troutbeck had another winner in the 12/13 year category when Arthur Holgate stormed clear on the run to snatch a remarkable victory by three-hundredths of a second.
Michael Frazer led after a neck-and-neck battle in the swimming with Holgate and Thomas Gibson.
Less than a second seperated Frazer and Holgate after the cycle race.
The tremendous battle went on throughout the run, with Holgate finally winning in 28-25 and Frazer (28-33) and Gibson (29-06) second and third.
