A NEW home for a children's play area which vanished overnight has yet to be found.
Earlier this summer, a slide, roundabout and swings were removed from Kendal's Underwood estate by South Lakeland District Council following a complaint from a neighbour about rowdy older children.
Residents attended a meeting at Kendal Town Hall, arranged by the council, to discuss where the play kit might be relocated.
"We put a map round in early August with one site in particular, but people have come out against that," explained Tony Naylor, parks and contracts officer.
Residents felt the site - open space between Brigsteer Road and Underwood - was too secluded, unlit at night, and unsuitable for young children.
Residents also thought the problem of older children congregating and causing trouble was being "moved on", rather than solved.
"We are going to put together some other options and go back to the residents and see what they make of them," said Mr Naylor.
"We will be working on that over the next two months."
Mr Naylor could not reveal what those options might be.
