VANDALS are probably to blame for the dying trees at Beresford Road Gardens, suspect Windermere parish councillors.
They heard six of the 12 trees planted to commemorate the European Union were dead or dying, including alders and willows.
Councillors agreed to ask Archie Galloway, their tree warden, to suggest suitable replacements.
