POLICE closed part of the A590 for two hours following a road traffic accident in which a woman suffered multiple injuries.
Harriet Willis, 54, from Belgium, was taken by ambulance to Furness General Hospital's intensive care unit following the incident last Sunday, at 9.40am, at the A590 junction with the A5092 at Greenodd.
Ms Willis, who was still in intensive care yesterday (Thursday) and described as "stable but poorly", had been a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa, driven by Christian Lambert Kusters, 52, from Belgium.
Fellow passenger Moira Gibson, 79, of East Sussex, was also taken to FGH where she was "comfortable" after the incident involving the Corsa and a Peugeot 306 estate, driven by Harold Pass, 67, of Great Urswick.
Witnesses should contact Ulverston Police on 01229-848586.
