COMEDIENNE Victoria Wood has added a beaded necklace to a growing treasure chest of goods for charity.
On behalf of the Cumbria-Westmorland Federation of Women's Institutes, the Mayor of Ulverston, David Miller, will help launch a treasure chest appeal in aid of 'Heart Research'.
The appeal encourages people to give unwanted or broken jewellery, including watches, to the chest.
The pieces will then be auctioned by Philips Fine Art Auctioneers, in Leeds.
Coun Miller said: " I give my support to the National Heart Research Fund's Treasure chest Appeal here in Cumbria.
Giving your unwanted or broken jewellery to 'Heart Research' is a simple way of helping them to raise money for research into heart disease."
The launch will take place at the Federation's Annual Council Meeting on September 26, in the Coronation Hall, Ulverston.
