ULVERSTON parish church and Haverigg Prison are among hundreds of organisations around the country who are this month handing out invitations to a high-profile Christian learning course.
At Haverigg, inmates who sign up for the Alpha course will be given tea and cakes.
At Ulverston parish centre, guests will get a full supper.
The refreshments, all on September 28, will herald classes in "a practical and contemporary introduction to the Christian faith", said Alan Bing, rector of Ulverston parish.
