A POSITIVE start by Ambleside brought them a goal in the opening minutes against Kirkby Stephen Seconds in their joint Cumbria League Division 2/Netherwood League fixture and they always looked in control afterwards on the way to a 6-0 victory.
Depleted Kirkby - who have lost five regular players due to maternity leave - found themselves on defensive duties for long spells on the Queen Katherine School pitch.
The main threat to Kirkby came from Ambleside's experienced striker Amanda Faulkner, who showed excellent skills to battle her way to a well-deserved hat-trick.
Not to be outdone, her sister-in-law Janet Faulkner hassled the Kirkby defence to bag two more excellent scores.
Kirkby Stephen continued to put up a good fight but Janet Belk fiound the bag of the net again for Ambleside for their six goal without reply.
The player of the match award went jointly to Hazel Jones, an excellent playmaker in midfield, and Laura Morris, strong as ever in the centre of defence.
