A MAJOR search is to be launched in the Lake District fells tomorrow, Saturday, for a man who has not been seen since Monday.
Around 150 mountain rescue team personnel, search dogs, as well as RAF helicopters are expected to be involved in looking for Michael Cohen, 68, from Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
He was reported missing from holiday accommodation in Rosthwaite, Borrowdale, at the weekend and was last seen on Monday.
It is believed he may have been walking the fells.
Mr Cohen is fairly distinctive being 6ft 5in tall, with short grey hair and a beard.
Sergeant Dave Willetts, of Keswick police, said: "It is possible he may have fallen from a path while out walking and we are asking that anyone walking the hills should take a careful look around."
Anyone with information should contact Workington police on 01900-602422.
