INFANT school children, whose parents have been concerned about a nearby blind junction, will get a barrier to stop them running in front of traffic.
Some of the youngsters from St Mary's CE School, Church Walk, Ulverston, go straight from a safe alley at Tarnside into a back road, with no pavement in between.
Now county road engineers are to fit a railing at the exit to Tarnside, Coun Wendy Kolbe told Ulverston Town Council.
"This will make things much safer for the children.
Work will be undertaken shortly," she added.
