THE history of white knuckle rides is the subject of a lecture for Professional Engineers South Cumbria, the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers at Forum 28, Barrow, on Wednesday, October 11.
Dr John Roberts, the immediate past president of the Institution of Structural Engineers, will describe the construction and operation of some of the most famous rides and will consider where the future lies for thrill seekers.
The event, which starts at 7.30pm, is open to the public with free admission.
