THE people of Ambleside are to be given a say over the future of the town at a special residents meeting.
Issues such as traffic, housing and facilities for young people will be open to debate at a the meeting organised by Sustainability South Lakeland, in conjunction with Cumbria County Council's Neighbourhood development Department.
In the week prior to the discussion on Saturday, October 7, Ambleside Library will feature a display of successful community projects and, following the meeting, an action plan will be drawn up.
Julia Crouch - Smith, of Sustainabilty South Lakeland, said: "The idea came from a discussion on sustainable development at a lakes Neighbourhood Forum meeting.
People felt it would be good to get something off the ground in Ambleside and to get people working together for the good of the town."
The event will be held at Ambleside Primary School between 10am and 1pm.
