TRIPS down to London hold no fear for Kendal, who after beating Esher on the season's opening day, sent a shock wave around National Division 2 by clawing their way back from a 17-0 deficit for a magnificent 25-29 win at Rosslyn Park.

Full back Mike Scott played a key part, kicking four penalties two conversions and a late drop-goal after the Mint Bridge men had shown massive character and commitment to stay in the match.

Rosslyn made a storming start with converted tries from centres Wayatt and Marvell and a penalty from fly-half Brad Mooar to lead 17-0 after 23 minutes.

Kendal's fightback started on the half-hour when they mauled their way over the tryline for Richard Harryman to drop on the ball.

Scott converted and then added two more penalties before half time to turn round 17-13 down.

Rosslyn threatened to reassert their dominance with a Mooar penalty and a try by right wing Gavin Thompson with Scott kicking a penalty in reply as they went in the last quarter 25-16 ahead.

But Kendal simply refused to be beaten and Scott kicked his fourth penalty as they laid seige to the Rosslyn line.

Unrelenting pressure was rewarded when Gowing touch down from a driving maul and Scott converted to edge them ahead at 25-26 before they stole lineout ball for Scott to finished a memorable afternoon with a drop-goal in the penultimate minute.
