A CRAIG Walmsley goal gave Milnthorpe Corinthians all three points at home to Haslingden St Mary's in the West Lancashire League's first division on Saturday.
Corinthians were restricted to a few half-chances before half time and Chris Woodruff went closest when striking a post with a shot.
Corinthians made a bright start to the second half and Walmsley scored the only goal of the game when his inswinging corner evaded everyone to go in the net.
Haslingden had the only real chance of the game soon afterwards but fluffed in front of goal.
Chances were few and far between afterwards and, while Corinthians never looked like conceding a goal, they were happy with the win in a below-par performance.
The Reserves drew 4-4 at Haslingden, pulling back from 4-0 down with goals from Kevin Howarth, Stuart Procter, David Davidson and Richard Barnwell.
