Kendal A 5 Sedgley Park 34
ALTHOUGH flattering to deceive in this Merit League performance, Kendal A showed improvement and Mark Bowman tackled with steel in the fiercely intensive opening passages of play, with fine support from Hall and Steve Bowman, no relation.
Both teams adopted an open game plan with quick recycled ball and Morris used his options well, but it was out wide where the points leaked with Park's fast, incisive backs scoring three unanswered tries.
After good interplay between Dolan and Pearson, lineout ball was secured for Holmes to be driven over but Sedgley foiled another attack with the ball over the tryline and ran it the length of the pitch for a seven pointer.
Despite this sickening blow, Kendal competed well with the Bracken brothers chasing and harrassing their opposite numbers up to the final whistle.
