A MAN matching the distinctive description of a walker who has been missing in the Lake District for over a fortnight was spotted outside a shop in Grange-over-Sands last Saturday.
Police have renewed their appeal for information about Salford university lecturer Michael Cohen, 68, of Altrincham, who went missing from holiday accommodation in Rosthwaite, Borrowdale, on September 23.
Guest house owners and other accommodation providers in the area have been contacted by the police seeking information about Mr Cohen's whereabouts.
A massive search of the Lake District fells at the weekend, involving over 90 mountain rescue personnel and 20 search dogs, failed to find Mr Cohen, who stands 6ft 5ins tall and walks with a stoop.
The man seen in Grange was wearing walking breeches, a blue-coloured waterproof jacket and a red-coloured rucksack.
He was described as being very tall.
Anyone with information about Mr Cohen's whereabouts should contact Workington police station on 01900-602422.
