A MINI recycling wave has hit Eden as more than 250 green-thinking residents placed orders for compost bins made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
With one-third of all typical household refuse being recyclable organic waste, people will be able to use much of their rubbish to create rich, natural garden compost - and a large proportion of refuse will not be sent to landfill sites.
Eden District Council joined forces with recycled plastic product-supplier LINPAC Environmental to offer residents more than 50 per cent discount on the cost of home compost bins.
