PARISH councillors are calling for enforcement action to make a Sedbergh farmer cut his overgrown hedges.
Hedges on Row Lane, which runs between the A684 to Garsdale and the A683 to Kirkby Stephen, are so overgrown the road has become impassable and South Lakeland District Council cannot get their mechanical sweepers down to clean it.
At their latest meeting, Sedbergh parish councillors voted to ask Cumbria County Council highways to take enforcement action against farmer Robert Metcalf to make him cut them.
